Cookstove efficiency tests in Addis Ababa and Lilongwe

I researched energy efficiency of improved and clean cookstoves using Controlled Cooking Tests (CCT) to inform the design of deforestation-free, efficient, clean cookstoves and fuel pellets for, Lilongwe households, Malawi.

I assessed levels of indoor air pollution using Particulate and Temperature Sensor (PATS).  I conducted tests in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at an altitude of 2000 m above sea level, and in Lilongwe, Malawi at 1100 m above sea level.

The outcomes of this research were presented at the 2021 Coastal Science and Policy capstone symposia and informed the design and manufacturing of clean cooking technologies in Lilongwe.
